Why I chose to study Japanese. Ryan Lee
I chose to study Japanese because I love Japanese culture and food, and because one of my best friends from high school studies in Tokyo at Waseda University. When I visited my high school friend in Tokyo 2 years ago, I could not communicate with people there because I did not know Japanese, and because my friend basically did all the translation. I am excited to learn how to read, write, and speak in Japanese so when I visit him later, I can communicate with people there and order Japanese food at a restaurant without any help! For the first four weeks of classes, I have not found anything challenging yet because I spent decent amount of time studying the materials, and actually sentence structures and vocabularies are somewhat similar to Korean. Although I know this is just a beginning and there will be challenges throughout the course, I am excited to enhance my Japanese ability.
I also wish to speak and order food in Japanese without help. I hope you succeed in your goal.
